How can we forget the sad events that occurred at Rana Plaza on this day back in 2013? More than 1000 lives lost and thousands more people injured. The event shook the globe and woke us all up to the extreme conditions some garment workers are forced to be in just so they can make a living. And for what? So Western consumers can buy cheap clothes.
It may seem impossible at times to make ethically conscious decisions about where you purchase your products, the effort can sometimes feel like an inevitable failure. It’s not the case, it is getting much easier to buy right. There are so many excellent resources at the touch of your fingers tips and ethical clothing is getting more and more affordable.
Spend a small amount of time discovering brands that are consciously aware, that are working on making things better every day. The industry is no where near perfect, there is so much much more we can do, but if we all take one step closer to knowing, we’ll get there.
